A sequel in name alone, this movie bears no resemblance to the previous film other than the direction of Seasonal’s impressive crew. This is a cheap yet spirited film full of hulking big action that is about as subtle as a slap in the face. In as few words as possible, then: geeky martial artist Avedon teams up with Thayer and marauding fighter Rothrock and fly out to Death Mountain, Cambodia – a Soviet stronghold fronted by charmless brute Hues who has kidnapped Wanthivanond, the daughter of a top Chinese government official. Unintentional hilarity ensues. Corey Yuen’s action is pretty decent stuff (as you would expect), and the broad B movie performances (in particular a cringe-worthy Rothrock) all add to the moronic fun.
